Once you get the trees planted your job is not done, it is very important to keep them well watered for the first year or two. Water deeply and more frequently during hotter times.
An excellent product to help you water your trees is a treegator, it comes in 2 sizes a 15 and 20 gal size, fill them up and over the next 5 or more hours, it slowly lets the water out, right where it is needed. If you water your trees by hand, you will be amazed at just how long it takes to fill a 20 gal bag with water. Which means most people standing at a tree with a hose will put out less then 5 gallons before moving on.
We also carry the Ross Root Feeders which are good for watering established trees.
We carry fertilizer spikes which should be applied 3 times a year, in March, June and Sept or Oct. when it begins to rain. Or better yet a tree and shrub granule that contains micronutrients to help your tree grow faster and be healthier. Fertilome Tree and Shrub fertilizer would be an excellent choice and should be applied March and Sept or Oct.
As always there are fungus, disease and bugs just waiting for something to attack, if you have a problem with any of these, put a sample in a plastic bag and bring them in, we can help you find the right product to take care of the problem.
